Waukee senior, CJ Rogers, was awarded the winner of the Fall 2019 InvestWrite Competition. CJ’s essay regarding the development of a two-million-dollar fund to provide for clean, accessible water in Africa using investment goals with horizons of ten and twenty years won him the prize in the statewide competition. His approach outlined an aggressive plan early, with heavy investments in technology and growth-focused equities. This plan, depending on actual returns, would gradually transition to lower risk assets such as bonds. InvestWrite®, an innovative national writing competition, is a program of the SIFMA Foundation offered exclusively to teachers and students participating in The Stock Market Game™.
