Samara Galindo and Cecilia Wright designed this experiment from the very first step.
The Waukee APEX students are tracking the reproductive rate of fruit flies with different sugars and different diets.
Fruit flies normal media (diet) is sugar, so Samara and Cecilia are experimenting with a no sugar diet, a cane sugar diet and a Splenda diet. The goal is to determine how each diet impacts the reproductive rate of the fruit fly.
The two students have designed this experiment, tests and projected outcomes.
