Mark your calendars. The biannual Waukee APEX Showcase and Career Fair night is back, and this year marks a significant milestone as the program celebrates its 10th year of industry-aligned education, career exploration and professional development.
The Waukee Innovation and Learning Center is set to host the fall Showcase on Thursday, December 14, 2023. This public event will not only highlight the amazing achievements of our student associates, but also commemorate a decade of transformative education.
Since its inception in 2013, the program has empowered hundreds of students to explore their passions, grow in their professional skills, and prepare for careers in various industries. Through partnerships with more than 200 local businesses, the program has provided students with the opportunity to work on real-world projects, learn alongside industry experts and navigate the challenges and opportunities within their chosen fields.
The Showcase and Career Fair will feature interactive displays of concepts and learning from this semester’s work-based projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with current APEX student associates, connect with instructors, and network with various business and college partners. Visitors can learn about emerging careers, courses, internships, apprenticeship opportunities, and college programs that can help put students on the right path for their future.
With ten years of success stories, Showcase will be an opportunity to celebrate the program’s achievements and look ahead to a future filled with even greater accomplishments and innovations from the next generation of aspiring professionals. The night promises to be a special event. The community is invited to join in the celebration of student success and the bright future of Waukee APEX.
