For the past 3 semesters, our APEX Finance, Banking, and Investment teams have partnered with Wellabe. Wellabe, headquartered in Des Moines, is an insurance provider offering a range of products designed to help individuals prepare for the future and enhance their well-being today.

The partnership with Wellabe began through the leadership and guidance of Ingrid Frangenberg, a seasoned actuary and leader in the organization. Her efforts have played a major role in creating impactful project opportunities for our teams and fostering an enriching relationship that continues to flourish.

Throughout the partnership, APEX has collaborated with actuarial and IT professionals on a variety of industry-level projects. These projects have provided our student associates with invaluable real-world experience and a deeper understanding of the insurance market and the variety of careers within the industry. The decision to partner with Wellabe was driven by Ingrid’s leadership and Wellabe’s significant presence in insurance markets. Their dedication to mentorship and innovation aligns perfectly with the goals of our Finance, Banking, and Investments course, making them an ideal partner for collaboration.

Wellabe’s efforts to enhance their brand on social media and engage younger workers through internships and exposure to industry practices have already yielded results. Several of our former associates have seamlessly transitioned into internships at Wellabe. Our student associates and APEX as a whole are grateful for the partnership and for the foundational skills and connections that continue to be developed through this partnership. Jesse Hunt, APEX instructor says, “Ashley (Prieksat) and I are confident that as long as Wellabe continues to offer these impactful opportunities each semester, our teams will gain exceptional experience while contributing meaningful value to Wellable and their employees. Projects and mentors like those at Wellabe are the cornerstone of APEX course success.” We are hopeful that the partnership with Wellabe will have a lasting impact, not only for their organization and clients but also for our students.

Along with Ingrid, FBI student associates have had the privilege of working with other outstanding professionals at Wellabe, including: Christopher Porter (Actuarial), David Ta (Actuarial), Kassidy Symonds (Actuarial), Mya Sullivan (Actuarial), and Michelle Sams (HR). They have also collaborated with various talented individuals from Wellabe’s IT department, whose contributions have been a major contributor to the success of the projects.

Looking toward the future, Hunt says, “As we continue to build and nurture our relationship with Wellabe, we look forward to more semesters filled with challenging projects, valuable mentorship, and mutual growth. This partnership exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and innovation that drives our APEX courses to new heights.”
