Time

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is offered in both the fall and spring semesters.  Some evenings or weekends may be required for clinical settings and will be scheduled with the instructor.

Course Description

Recommended: Human Anatomy & Physiology

This semester program will provide students the opportunity to explore careers in nursing and work toward CNA certification. DMACC credits and clinical hours needed for certification are available upon completion of all course offerings. Students must be able to complete a background check, physical, TB test, and immunizations prior to the course start. Students must be able to physically lift, bend, and other motions to provide assists inpatient care.  Daily attendance is required in this course to complete all the necessary hours for course completion. There will not be many available opportunities for make-up hours. There may be some extended clinical sessions in the evenings and/or weekends.  There will be a family orientation for this course prior to the start of the school year to review the mandatory requirements and to complete forms.
